Abstract

Abstract: Copper nanoparticles (CuNP) are one of the metal nanoparticles, besides gold and silver, which are widely used in the pharmaceutical field. Copper nanoparticles are widely applied, especially in relation to their antibacterial and antioxidant acivities, as and other applications in the pharmaceutical. The search results show plant that can be used as bioreductors are plants that contain flavonoid compounds such as Persea americana, Zingiber officinale, Punica granatum, Falcaria vulgaris, Cissus vitiginea. As well as plants that contain phenols such as plant Ziziphus spina-christi, Agaricus bisporus, and Curcuma longa. The copper nanoparticles synthesized using plant extract formed have spherical in shape and an average size of 20-100 nm. SPR formed is in the range of 350-631 nm. Copper nanoparticles showed high antibacterial effectiveness against Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella thypii) and Gram-positive bacteria (Propionabacterium acnes, Streptococcus sp, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus aureus, Enterococcus sp) with an inhibition zone between 20-28 mm. So that these copper nanoparticles can be used as one of the antibacterial candidates.
