Kajian Potensi Antibakteri Ekstrak Etanol Rimpang Kunyit (Curcuma Domestica Val.), Kencur (Kaempferia Galanga L.) dan Jahe (Zingiber Officinale Var.) terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus Penyebab Impetigo Bulosa

Abstract


ABSTRACT: Bullous impetigo is a skin infection caused by exfoliative toxins released by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, causing the skin to become blistered controversially for years. This study aims to examine based on the literature, the antibacterial potential of the ethanol extract of turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.), kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) and ginger (Zingiber officinale Var.) rhizome against Staphylococcus aureus that causes bullous impetigo. The research was conducted using the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Based on the results of a literature search, it was shown that the three rhizome plants, namely turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.), kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) and ginger (Zingiber officinale Var.) were able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. However, the three rhizomes have different potentials to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, where the turmeric rhizome (Curcuma domestica Val.) has strong potential, aromatic ginger rhizome (Kaempferia galanga L.) has moderate potential and ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale Var.) has very strong potential.

ABSTRAK: Impetigo bulosa merupakan salah satu infeksi kulit akibat racun eksfoliatif yang dilepaskan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, sehingga menyebabkan kulit menjadi melepuh secara kontroversial selama bertahun-tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berdasarkan literatur, potensi antibakteri ekstrak etanol rimpang kunyit (Curcuma domestica Val.), rimpang kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) dan rimpang jahe (Zingiber officinale Var.) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus penyebab impetigo bulosa. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode SLR (Systematic Literature Review). Berdasarkan hasil penelusuran pustaka, menunjukkan bahwa ketiga tanaman rimpang yaitu kunyit (Curcuma domestica Val.), kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) dan jahe (Zingiber officinale Var.) mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Namun ketiga rimpang memiliki potensi yang berbeda dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, dimana rimpang kunyit (Curcuma domestica Val.) memiliki potensi yang kuat, rimpang kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) memiliki potensi yang sedang dan rimpang jahe (Zingiber officinale Var.) memiliki potensi yang sangat kuat.
