Abstract

ABSTRACT: The Genus dracaena are known by a variety of uses of each tradition can be used as a treatment and ornamental plants in the room for an air purifier, have a secondary metabolite compounds. Dracaena is known to be rich in compounds of steroidal saponins which have pharmacological activity. This literature study aims to find out the compounds of steroidal saponins that exist in some the genus dracaena and to know the differences of the structure of the compounds of each genus dracaena which affect the physicochemical properties and activities. This literature study using a research journal that performs insulation, collected about 8 of the genus dracaena which have compounds of steroidal saponins. The results of this research, there are compounds of steroidal saponins with different structures, as well as having pharmacological activity including anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative and cytotoxic properties have

Keywords: Dracaena, steroidal saponin, pharmacological  activity
