Studi Korelasi Self Esteem dengan Chidren Well-Being Anak Yatim Piatu Usia 12 Tahun di Panti Asuhan Tunas Melati Bandung

Abstract. The study was conducted to determine the correlation of self esteem and the well-being of orphan aged 12 years in the orphanage Tunas Melati Bandung. Not all children are lucky to have an intact family that make some children have to live in an orphanage. This makes the children have their own assessment of her as a child living in an orphanage, the assessment is perceived differently by each child according to their self appreciation respectively. Positive or negative assessment of the child-welfare life perceived by children. Hyphotesis proposed that the higher the self-assessment of foster children, the more positive self-evaluation of foster children in eight domains Children Well-being. The first variable is the study of self-esteem, the data obtained using questionnaires adapted from the Self Perception Profile for Children Scale of Susan Harter, (1999). The second variable of this research is the well being of children, the data obtained using questionnaires adapted from ISCWeb Quistionnare. Data processing was performed using Spearman Rank correlation calculations. The results show the highest correlation with self-esteem domain of children of well-being at the age of 12 years are in domain satisfaction with material things with a 0.717 correlation value. That is, that the foster children 12 years of age showed a positive relationship between self-esteem with the domain satisfaction with material things.

 

Abstrak. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui korelasi self esteem dengan children well-being pada anak yatim piatu usia 12 tahun di panti asuhan Tunas Melati Bandung. Tidak semua anak beruntung memiliki keluarga yang utuh sehingga membuat beberapa anak harus tinggal di panti asuhan. Hal tersebut membuat anak memiliki penilaian sendiri terhadap dirinya sebagai anak yang tinggal di panti asuhan, penilaian dirasakan berbeda oleh setiap anak sesuai dengan penghayatan diri mereka masing-masing. Penilaian positif atau negatif anak tersebut berhubungan dengan kesejahteraan hidup yang dirasakan oleh anak.Hipotesis yang diajukan yaitu semakin tinggi penilaian diri anak asuh maka semakin positif evaluasi diri anak asuh pada delapan domain Children Well-being. Variabel pertama penelitian ini adalah self-esteem, data diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuisioner yang diadaptasi dari Self Perception Profile for Children Scale dari Susan Harter, (1999). Variabel kedua penelitian ini adalah children well being, data diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuisioner yang diadaptasi dari ISCWeb Quistionnare. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan perhitungan korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil menunjukkan korelasi tertinggi self-esteem dengan domain children well-being pada usia 12 tahun adalah pada domain satisfaction with material things dengan nilai korelasi 0.717. Artinya, bahwa anak asuh usia 12 tahun menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara self-esteem dengan domain satisfaction with material things.
