Hubungan antara Dukungan Sosial dengan School-Family Conflict pada Mahasiswa Magister Psikologi Profesi di Kota Bandung

Abstract. Married students have multiple roles, if they are unable to balance the two roles, it can cause a conflict called school-family conflict. Conflicts that occur such as not being able to fulfill the demands of a role at once and fatigue in fulfilling one of the roles that causes students to feel anxious when fulfilling the demands of other roles, so that students are not optimal and have difficulty concentrating in fulfilling the demands of the existing roles. One of the factors that can influence school-family conflict is social support. This study aims to determine how closely the relationship between social support and school-family conflict in married professional psychology master students. The method used is correlational quantitative method. Data processing using the Spearman Rank analysis technique. The subjects in this study were 52 married professional psychology master's students in Bandung. Measurements were made using measurement tools from House (1985) and Ganster (1986) to measure social support, and a scale from Tricia Vhan Rhijn (2009) which has been adapted by Tatiana (2016) to measure school-family conflict. The results showed that there was a relationship between social support and school-family conflict with a correlation coefficient of -0.562, so that the strength of the relationship between social support and school-family conflict was in the moderate category according to the Guilford table. The correlation coefficient value is negative so the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional, meaning that the higher the social support score, the lower the school-family conflict score, and vice versa.

Abstrak. Mahasiswa yang telah menikah memiliki peran ganda, apabila tidak dapat menyeimbangkan kedua peran tersebut maka dapat menimbulkan konflik yang disebut sebagai school-family conflict. Konflik yang terjadi seperti tidak mampu memenuhi tuntutan peran pada waktu yang sama serta kelelahan dalam memenuhi salah satu peran yang mengakibatkan mahasiswa merasa gelisah saat memenuhi tuntutan peran yang lain, sehingga mahasiswa tidak maksimal dan sulit berkonsentrasi saat memenuhi tuntutan peran yang ada. Salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi school-family conflict adalah dukungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan school-family conflict pada mahasiswa magister psikologi profesi yang sudah menikah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif korelasional. Pengolahan data menggunakan teknik analisis Rank Spearman.  Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 52 mahasiswa magister psikologi profesi yang sudah menikah di Kota Bandung. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat ukur dari House (1985) dan Ganster (1986) untuk mengukur dukungan sosial, dan skala dari Tricia Vhan Rhijn (2009) yang telah diadaptasi oleh Tatiana (2016) untuk mengukur school-family conflict. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan school-family conflict dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,562, maka kekuatan hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan school-family conflict termasuk kedalam kategori sedang menurut tabel Guilford. Nilai koefisien korelasi bernilai negatif sehingga hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut tidak searah, artinya semakin tinggi skor dukungan sosial maka semakin rendah skor school-family conflict, dan sebaliknya.
