Hubungan Tipe Kepribadian dengan Perilaku Compulsive Buying pada Mahasiswa di Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract.This study entitled The Relationship of Big-Five Models Personality Traits with Compulsive Buying Behavior in Students at Bandung City. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between personality types based on big-five models with compulsive buying behavior. Compulsive buying is a repetitive and chronic buying activity carried out as a way to release negative feelings. In students in the city of Bandung found problems where students often buy things that are not needed, buy things because of their shape or color, buy things to follow trends and prestige, it has an impact on the lack of pocket money given by parents and even owes for shopping, but shopping is still being done because of the feeling of being entertained after shopping. One of the factors that influence compulsive buying behavior is the peer factor which is in line with the phenomenon of students in Bandung who cannot refuse friends when they want to shop and also want to spend time shopping with friends even though they don't want to shop. Data collection was conducted on 397 students in the city of Bandung, using online and offline questionnaires (directly met respondents). The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire, which was adapted from the Indonesian IPIP-BFM 25 standardized adaptation tool for the Big-5 Personality Type models and CBS Elizabeth Edwards for the compulsive Buying variable. Data analysis techniques using the Spearman rank.The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship with a very high degree of correlation coefficient between neuroticism personality types and compulsive buying behavior. There is a relationship with the degree of correlation coefficient sedan angatar agreeableness personality type and extraversion with compulsive buying behavior. There is a low relationship between the personality type of openness to experience with compulsive buying behavior and there is no relationship between the personality type of conscientiousness with compulsive buying behavior.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini berjudul Hubungan Tipe KepribadianBig-Five Modelsdengan Perilaku Compulsive BuyingPada Mahasiswa di Kota Bandung. Tujuan peneltian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara tipe kepribadian berdasarkan big-five modelsdengan perilaku compulsive buying. Compulsive buyingadalah kegiatan membeli secara berulang dan kronis yang dilakukan sebagai cara untuk melepas perasaan negatif. Pada mahasiswa di kota Bandung ditemukan masalah dimana mahasiswa sering membeli barang-barang yang tidak dibutuhkan, membeli barang karena bentuk atau warnanya, membeli barang untuk mengikuti trenddan gengsi, hal tersebut berdampak pada kurangnya uang saku yang telah diberikan orangtua dan bahkan berhutang demi berbelanja, namun berbelanja tetap dilakukan karena adanya perasaan terhibur sehabis berbelanja. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perilaku compulsive buyingsalah satunya adalah factor teman sebaya dimana hal ini selaras dengan fenomena mahasiswa di kota Bandung yang tidak bisa menolak ajakan teman saat ingin berbelanja dan juga mau meluangkan waktu untuk berbelanja bersama teman walaupun sebenarnya tidak ingin berbelanja.Pengambilan data dilakukan pada 397 mahasiswa di Kota Bandung, dengan menggunakan kuesioner secara online dan offline (langsung bertemu responden). Alat ukur yang digunakan berupa kuisioner, yang diadaptasi dari alat ukur baku IPIP-BFM 25 adaptasi Indonesia untuk Tipe Kepribadian Big-5 models dan CBS Elizabeth Edwards untuk variabel compulsive Buying. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rank spearman.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang sifnifikan dengan derajat koefisien korelasi sangat tinggi antara tipe kepribadian neuroticism dengan perilaku compulsive buying. Terdapat hubungan dengan derajat koefisien korelasi sedan angatar tipe kepribadian agreeableness dan extraversion dengan perilaku compulsive buying. Terdapat hubungan yang rendah antara tipe kepribadian openness to experience dengan perilaku compulsive buying dan tidak terdapat hubungan antara tipe kepribadian conscientiousness dengan perilaku compulsive buying.
