Relation Watching Travel Vlog Youtube With Visiting Interest Local Tours

Abstract


The development of the internet today greatly affect the social life as well as how to communicate a person. With the appearance of the internet, communication to the other person can be through social media. Today social media is not only used for sharing an information, but also for promoting goods, services, and etc. Youtube is one of the most visited social media by teenagers or young people, but adults and elderly also have access to youtube social media but not as much as young people and teenagers. Arif Muhammad is one of the famous youtuber in Indonesia, he is a youtuber or vlogger who travels to many parts of the world, and he always documenting it. Currently the government is trying to increase the number of local tourist visits to local tourist sites. Arif Muhammad’s Travel vlog is expected to assist government efforts in increasing the number of local tourists. The purpose of this research is to see the relationship between watching the travel vlog of Arif Muhammad with the interest of visiting local tour of Gili Trawangan. The method used in this research is quantitative with correlational approach. Technique of collecting data using questioner and literature study, and questioner distributed to 97 respondents. Technique of data analysis obtained by Rank Spearman formula. The results of the study there is a significant relationship between watching vlog travel Youtube Arif Muhammad with the interest of visiting local tourism Gili Trawangan. From Rank Spearman correlation calculation results obtained correlation of 0,557, the value is included in the category of average. That way, the more people watch travel vlog of Arif Muhammad then the higher the interest to visit local tourism Gili Trawangan.
