The Messages in the Dance Ranup Lampuan

Abstract

Ranup Lampuan is a new dance of Acehnese. Originally, this dance was created to welcome guests of the Government of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. Today, the dance has been a part of the people of Aceh. This study examined the message in the dance Ranup Lampuan based on the aspects of event communication, paralinguistic, and communication patterns. The data collection techniques include observation and interviews. Based on the events of communication, paralinguistic aspects, and communication patterns of Ranup Lampuan dance, the message in this dance includes congratulation to guests. Guests will be treated well if the guests had good intentions to the people of Aceh.
