Penelusuran Pustaka Senyawa Aktif Antimikroba dalam Bunga Rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L)

Abstract


Abstract: Plant medicine that has an antimicrobial effect could be an alternative for infection disease management. Rosella flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L) was reported containing many phytochemicals including polyphenols (particularly anthocyanins), polysaccharides and organic acids which are pharmacologically active. The pharmacology activities of this flower have been studied by many researchers worldwide. One of the pharmacological effects of rosella flowers that has been widely reported is their antimicrobial property. Thus, this study aims to review recent publications about antimicrobial activity of rosella flower. In this study, we summarize the microbes species that can be inhibited by rosella and the antimicrobial compounds in the rosella. From research journal include in this study, rosella flower extract has antimicrobial activity against Streptococcus pneumoniae, KlebsiellaPneumoniae, Streptococcus sp,Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Salmonella typhi, Shigelladynsenteriae, Streptococcus antifungi, Bacillus, and Bacillus mutangis. (Candida albicans). Compounds that have antimicrobial activity are from a group of phenolic compounds including tannins, saponins and flavonoids, but the name of the active compound from the phenol group is still unknown.

Abstrak: Penggunaan  tanaman obat yang memiliki aktivitas antimikroba dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif penanganan penyakit infeksi yang masih merupakan permasalahan  kesehatan utama  di Indonesia rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L) diketahui kaya akan senyawa fitokimia seperti polifenol terutama antosianin, polisakarida dan asam organik. Senyawa tersebut diketahui bersifat aktif secara farmakologi. Berbagai penelitian mengenai efek farmakologi bunga rosella telah dilaporkan dalam berbagai jurnal, diantaranya adalah efek antimikroba sehingga pada penelitian ini dilakukan penelusuran pustaka efek antimikroba bunga rosella beserta senyawa  fitokimia yang menimbulkan efek tersebut. Dari hasil penelusuran pustaka diketahui bahwa bunga rosella  memiliki prospek yang sangat besar dalam penggunaan terapi modern. Tujuanpenelitianinimemiliki aktivitas Antimikroba terhadap Streptococcus pneumoniae, Klebsiella Pneumoniae, Streptococcus sp, Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Salmonela typhi, Shigella dynsenteriae, Streptococcus mutans, Bacillus subtilis, Campylobacter jejuni, dan Antifungi (Candida Albicans).Sedangkan Senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas antimikroba adalah dari kelompok senyawa fenol antara lain tanin, saponin dan flavonoid namun nama senyawa aktif dari kelompok fenol tersebut belum diketahui dengan pasti.
