Abstract

ABSTRACT: In recent years, the application of gold nanoparticles has been studied in various fields. Therefore, a synthesis method has to be developed becoming effective and environmentally friendly synthesis methods. So, gold nanoparticles synthesis research using bioreductors from various plant extracts. In this literature study, several studies will be observed based on various plant extracts as natural bioreductors and their effect on the characteristics of the gold nanoparticles formed. In addition, the antibacterial activity of the resulting gold nanoparticles and the factors influencing were also studied. From this study, it was found that the use of various plant extracts as bioreductors resulted in different characteristics of gold nanoparticles and antibacterial activity, this is influenced by bioreductor, extraction and synthetic methods, volume composition of extracts and precursors, concentration of nanoparticles, temperature, shape and size of nanoparticles also the type of tested bacteria. It was also known that the most optimal antibacterial activity was produced using Glycyrrhzia glabra L extract as bioreductor because it produced the largest inhibition zone
