Formulasi Sediaan Emulgel Mengandung Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari (Helianthus annuus L.) dan Gel Lidah Buaya (Aloe vera L.)

Abstract


Asbtarct. Xerosis was caused by moisture reduction on the skin due to lipid loss and an increased incidence of TEWL. Aloe vera gel and sunflower seed oil are known as natural ingredients which have moisturizing activity. This study aimed to obtain emulgel formula containing sunflower seed oil (Helianthus annus L.) and aloe vera gel (Aloe vera L.) that has good physical characteristics and to determine emulgel formula activities as skin moisturizer. The study began with emulgel formula optimization with aloe vera gel concentration varieties. Emulgel was evaluated with physical characteristic evaluation and moisturizing activity test using skin detector SG-5E on volunteer’s forearm. The results showed that emulgel contained sunflower seed oil (20%), Tween 80 and Span 80 (10%), viscolam mac-10 (7%), aloe vera gel (20%, 30% dan 40%) had good physical characteristics based on physical properties evaluation. The results of activity tests showed that emulgel at the three concentrations of aloe vera gel were shown moisturizing activity based on skin moisture percentage which was significantly different than control (P<0.05).

Abstrak. Xerosis disebabkan oleh berkurangnya kelembaban kulit akibat hilangnya lipid dan meningkatnya kejadian TEWL. Gel lidah buaya dan minyak biji bunga matahari diketahui bahan alami yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai pelembab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh formula sediaan emulgel mengandung minyak biji bunga matahari (Helianthus annuus L.) dan gel lidah buaya (Aloe vera L.) yang memiliki sifat fisik yang baik serta untuk mengetahui aktivitas sediaan emulgel sebagai pelembab kulit. Penelitian diawali dengan optimasi formula dengan variasi konsentrasi gel lidah buaya. Sediaan emulgel dievaluasi sifat fisik dan uji aktivitas pelembab menggunakan skin detector SG-5E pada lengan bawah sukarelawan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sediaan emulgel mengandung minyak biji bunga matahari (20%), tween 80 dan span 80 (10%), viscolam mac-10 (7%), gel lidah buaya (20%, 30% dan 40%) memiliki karakteristik fisik yang baik berdasarkan pengujian evaluasi sifat fisik. Hasil uji aktivitas menunjukkan sediaan emulgel pada ketiga konsentrasi gel lidah buaya terbukti memiliki aktivitas pelembab berdasarkan persentase peningkatan kelembaban kulit yang berbeda bermakna dibanding kontrol (P<0,05).
