Pengaruh Zumba Fitness terhadap Tingkat Stres Psikologis Mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung

Abstract


Stres didefinisikan sebagai keadaan ketegangan mental atau emosional atau ketegangan akibat keadaan buruk atau keadaan yang menuntut. Stres dapat diakibatkan oleh adanya stresor psikologis, fisik, spiritual, keluarga, sosial, akademik, dan masalah keuangan. Tingkat stres dibagi menjadi normal, ringan, sedang, berat, dan sangat berat. Aktivitas fisik teratur berhubungan dengan kesehatan mental yang lebih baik. Zumba merupakan gabungan musik dan tarian latin dengan step aerobik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh zumba fitness terhadap stres psikologis mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Unisba tahun akademik 2017/2018. Metode yang digunakan adalah trial,  dengan desain non randomized trial preest-posttest group dengan analisis data menggunakan metode uji Wilcoxon dengan derajat kepercayaan 95%, sampel merupakan 33 mahasiswi yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Subjek diberi perlakuan zumba fitness selama 60 menit dengan frekuensi tiga kali seminggu selama dua minggu. Tingkat stres dinilai menggunakan kuesioner Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh zumba fitness terhadap tingkat stres, yang ditunjukkan dengan penurunan bermakna jumlah subjek penelitian yang mengalalami stres , sebanyak 27 orang menjadi normal, dan 6 orang dengan stres ringan (p<0,001). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah zumba fitness dapat menurunkan tingkat stres. Zumba menyebabkan peningkatan neurotransmitter serotonin dan dopamin, serta kadar hormon norepinefrin dan endorfin dalam tubuh. Hal tersebut berkontribusi pada pengendalian motivasi, suasana hati, serta penurunan tingkat stres.

 

Stress is defined as a state of mental or emotional tension, or tension due to bad conditions or demanding conditions. Stress can be caused by psychological, physical, spiritual, family, social, academic, and financial problems. The stress level is divided into normal, mild, moderate, severe, and very severe. Zumba is a combination of music and latin dance with aerobic steps. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of zumba fitness on psychological stress of female students of the Faculty of Medicine Unisba year academic 2017/2018. The method used trial, with a non-randomized design pretest-posttest group with data analysis using Wilcoxon test of 95% confidence degree, with a sample of 33 female students who include to the inclusion criteria. Subjects were treated with zumba fitness for 60 minutes with a frequency of three times a week for two weeks. Stress levels were assessed using a questionnaire Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS). The results showed that there was an effect of zumba fitness on stress levels, which was shown by a significant decrease in the number of subjects who experienced stress, as 27 people became normal, and 6 people with mild stres (p <0.001). The conclusion of this research is that zumba fitness can reduce stress levels. Zumba causes an increase in the neurotransmitter serotonin and dopamine, as well as levels of the hormone norefinephrine and endorphins in the body. This contributes to controlling motivation, mood, and decreasing stress levels.
