Hubungan antara Kematangan Emosi dengan Konformitas pada Cyberbullying Mahasiswa di Kota Bandung

Abstract. Technological developments are becoming faster these days. Social media today becoming one of tools to be able to communicate with anyone. Cyberbullying is one of the negative impacts of social media usage. The existence of media factors in which the individual does not need to meet face to face with the victim making individuals who doing cyberbullying behavior feel no need to be responsible for the impact received by the victim. The phenomenon that occurs is there are students who do cyberbullying caused by the behavior of some victims. This shows the lack of emotional control that is displayed or has low Emotional Maturity Hurlock 1980. The reason they are cyberbullying is because following what others are doing the fear of social reproach makes the individual follow the behavior or what is called conformity. The hypothesis proposed in this study is there is a negative relationship between emotional maturity with conformity meaning the lower the emotional maturity then the higher the conformity in cyberbullying Students in the city of Bandung. Research subjects in this study were students in the city of Bandung. Measuring tool in this study using emotional maturity questionnaire compiled by researchers based on emotional maturity theory E. B Hurlock and conformity behavior based on the theory of David O'Sears. The data analysis used is Rank Spearman. The results showed there was a fairly high negative relationship between emotional maturity with conformity shown by the correlation coefficient value r of -0.630.

Abstrak. Perkembangan teknologi saat ini menjadi lebih cepat. Media sosial dewasa ini menjadi salah satu sarana untuk berkomunikasi dengan siapapun. Cyberbullying menjadi salah satu dampak negatif dari penggunaan media sosial Adanya faktor media dimana individu tidak perlu bertatap muka langsung dengan korban, membuat individu yang melakukan perilaku cyberbullying merasa tidak perlu bertanggung jawab atas dampak yang diterima oleh korban. Fenomena yang terjadi adalah terdapat mahasiswa yang melakukan cyberbullying dengan alasan tingkah laku korban yang berbeda dari kebanyakan orang. Hal tesebut menunjukkan kurangnya pengendalian emosi yang ditampilkan atau memiliki Kematangan Emosi yang rendah (Hurlock, 1980). Alasan mereka melakukan cyberbullying karena mengikuti apa yang orang lain lakukan, adanya rasa takut pada celaan sosial membuat individu mengikuti perilaku atau yang disebut sebagai Konformitas. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan negatif antara kematangan emosi dengan konformitas, artinya semakin rendah kematangan emosi maka semakin tinggi konformitas pada cyberbullying Mahasiswa di Kota Bandung. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa di Kota Bandung. Alat ukur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner kematangan emosi yang disusun peneliti berdasarkan teori kematangan emosi E. B Hurlock dan perilaku konformitas berdasarkan teori David O’Sears. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif yang cukup tinggi antara kematangan emosi dengan konformitas yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar -0,630
