Abstract

Abstract. Emerging adulthood has been recognized as a new stage of life in which individuals will be open to various possibilities and opportunities for life through freedom of exploration. The domain that is usually explored is traditional worldviews. Traditional world views are individual views on the importance of family, community, respect for tradition, self-sacrifice and dedication which includes religious beliefs. Individuals who are in college have wider opportunities to be more open to the world view than those who are not students. The availability of abundant religious services in the city of Bandung along with its various variations, makes it possible for an individual exploration process to be carried out. However, in reality, this is not necessarily the case. The purpose of this study is to describe the extent to which individual identity status has been achieved in embracing atheist and agnostic beliefs. This study uses a descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Religious Identity Status Questionnaire from Irena Stojkovic (2019) which was compiled based on Erikson and Marcia's theoretical model. Based on data processing of 102 respondents with descriptive statistical analysis, the results obtained were 43.14% on achievement identity status, 33.33% on moratorium identity status, 21.57% on diffusion identity status, and 1.96% on foreclosure identity status.
