Abstract

Abstract. In the midst of industrial and technological developments, Indonesia still lacks competent human resources, especially in engineering graduates, specifically informatics engineering because many of them are also considered unable to have the standards required by the company. Self-regulated learning strategies are the basis for students to be actively involved (engaged) in academic and non-academic activities as whole students and produce graduates who are ready to adapt and function in society. This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulated learning on student engagement in Informatics Engineering Study Program students in Bandung. The method used in this study is a non-experimental causality study using proportional stratified random sampling with a total of 340 students of informatics engineering students in Bandung. The self-regulated learning variable measuring instrument uses a short version scale of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) scale made by Usinger & Boyer (2012) which has been adapted by Muasyaroh (2018) and the Student Engagement variable is the University Student Engagement Inventory (USEI) from Maroco, et al (2016) which has been adapted by Fortuna (2018). The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression. The result of this research is that there is a significant effect of Self Regulated Learning on Student Engagement on Informatics Engineering students in Bandung city of 0.570
