Abstract

Abstract. Physical disability is an inability to conduct a particular activity or action as a normal person due to physiological loss or abnormality. Some studies show that the psychological impact of people with disabilities is being depressed, not being able to accept themselves, being angry, feeling inferior. The condition is different with the condition of women with disabilities in the Himpunan Wanita Disabilitas (HWDI), Bandung. Women with disabilities in HWDI Bandung show the existence of confidence by being able to be a speaker at an event, being able to relate with people around, having a target in life, being able to be independent for example by generating income for daily life. Women with disabilities also say that they realize that the incident and all goodness can not be separated from the interference of other parties such as God, family, and other people. This research aims to find the adjacency of the gratitude relationship with psychological well-being and find the illustration of gratitude and psychological well-being. This research also used a population study as many as 30 women with disabilities in HWDI Bandung. The data collection uses a measuring instrument of gratitude, named GRAT-S (in Wakins, 2003), while psychological well-being is RPWB (Ryff, 1989) which has been adapted and modified. This research technique uses correlation. The results of this research indicate significantly strong positive relationship (r = 0.617) between gratitude and pscyhological well-being.
