Hubungan Persepsi Parent Involvement Dalam Pendidikan dengan Motivasi Belajar pada Siswa SMP “X†Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Adolescence is the period of puberty, where friends become important things. During puberty may cause a crisis, because of many changes that adolescents experience. As in "X" SMP Bandung which had in domination by the inactive behavior in class, problematic student, and breaking the school rules, but there are some students who have a high interest towards the lessons and actively learning in the class. The factors of parents is one reason that makes them have a high interest towards a lesson or encouragement to learn. The purpose of this research is to find out how strong the relationship of parent involvement in academic motivation of learning at JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL "X" Bandung. Research methods used are correlational methods in quantitative methods. Measuring instrument which is used in the form of a questionnaire, drawn up based on the concepts of the theory of Hill & Tyson (2009) to variable parent involvement with the modification of the measuring instrument research Yohana Laura Juwita and Motivated Learning Strategies Quesionnaire (MSLQ) (1993) from Pintrich. The results of this study are showing a positive correlation of 0.563 which means there is a moderate relationship between perceptions of parent involvement with the motivation of learning in students of JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL "X" Bandung.

Abstrak. Masa remaja merupakan masa pubertas, dimana teman menjadi hal penting. Pada masa pubertas tersebut dapat menimbulkan krisis, karena banyak perubahan yang remaja alami. Seperti pada SMP “X†Kota Bandung dimana siswa-siswanya di dominasi oleh perilaku tidak aktif di kelas, siswa bermasalah, dan melanggar peraturan sekolah, namun  ada sebagian siswa yang menunjukkan minat yang tinggi terhadap pelajaran dan aktif dikelas ketika pembelajaran. Faktor orang tua merupakan salah satu alasan yang membuat mereka memiliki minat tinggi terhadap pelajaran atau dorongan untuk belajar yang tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa kuat hubungan parent involvement dalam akademik dengan motivasi belajar pada SMP “X†Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional dengan metode kuantitatif. Alat ukur yang digunakan berupa kuesioner, disusun berdasarkan konsep teori dari Hill&Tyson (2009) untuk variabel parent involvement dengan modifikasi dari alat ukur penelitian Yohana Laura Juwita dan Motivated Learning Strategies Quesionnaire (MSLQ) (1993) dari Pintrich. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan korelasi positif sebesar 0,563 yang artinya terdapat hubungan moderat antara persepsi parent involvement dengan motivasi belajar pada siswa SMP “X†Kota Bandung.
