Kajian Korosi Struktur Conveyor A pada Tambang Batubara PT XYZ di Kabupaten Sarolangun, Provinsi Jambi

Abstract


Abstract. Conveyor serves as a means of transportation in mining activities, for example, coal. Usually the conveyor structure is made of carbon steel which can corrode due to direct interaction with its environment, so that . Corrosion monitoring is very necessary, one of which is through this research. The purpose of this research is to determine the type of corrosion, and its control method. The methodology used in this study is measuring the thickness reduction of the conveyor structure. Measurement of the thickness of the conveyor structure using the Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge TT 130 was carried out at 16 test points along 60 meters above the ground. The environmental conditions at the research location are air temperature around 27.5°C – 28.7°C, rainfall ranges from 22.29 mm - 97.29 mm and relative humidity 77.72% - 89.03%. The type of corrosion that occurs in the conveyor structure is a type of uniform corrosion. Corrosion control on the conveyor structure uses a 3-layer coating method, namely the Seaguard 500 primer coating, the intermediate coating using Sherglass FF and the top coating using Aliphatic Acrylic Modified Polyurethane.

Abstrak. Conveyor berfungsi sebagai alat transportasi di kegiatan pertambangan contohnya adalah batubara. Biasanya struktur conveyor terbuat dari baja karbon yang bisa mengalami korosi akibat berinterasi langsung dengan lingkungannya, sehingga . Monitoring korosi sangat diperlukan, salah satunya melalui penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui jenis korosi, dan metode pengendaliannya. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengukuran pengurangan ketebalan struktur conveyor. Pengukuran ketebalan struktur conveyor menggunakan alat Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge TT 130 dilakukan pada 16 test point sepanjang 60 meter yang berada di atas permukaan tanah. Kondisi lingkungan pada lokasi penelitian ini yaitu temperatur udara  sekitar 27,5°C – 28,7°C, Curah hujan berkisar antara 22,29 mm - 97,29 mm dan kelembaban relafi 77,72% - 89,03%. Jenis korosi yang terjadi pada struktur conveyor merupakan jenis korosi merata (uniform corrosion). Pengendalian korosi pada struktur conveyor menggunakan metoda coating 3 lapis yaitu primer coating Seaguard 500, intermediate coating menggunakan Sherglass FF dan top coating  menggunakan Aliphatic Acrylic Modified Polyurethane.
