Validasi Lingkungan Pengendapan Batubara Berdasarkan Analisis Petrografi Organik Pada Formasi Muara Enim, Cekungan Sumatra Selatan

Abstract


Abstract. The coal sample was derived from the Muara Enim formation, the basins of South Sumatra, more precisely in the District of West Merapi, Lahat Regency. Research carried out by using analytical methods petrography of organic in order to know the composition of the maseral and minerals constituent of coal as well as methods of analysis of the stratigraphy to determine the facies rocks of the compiler as well as strengthen the idea in the determination of the depositional environment of the coal research area. Interpretation of coal depositional environment is performed based on the relationship of the value of the TPI and GI and the results of the comparison of the model facies obtained with the model of the environment of deposition that have been there before. The content of the group maseral huminit dominate the coal study area (>50%) followed by group maseral liptinit and inertinit. Coal study area has a range of values TPI of 0.87–1,61 and GI 6,98–37,33 shows that coal in the study area sedimentation flock on the environment of deposition of the transitional lower delta plain with a sub-environment pengendapannya specialized telmatik and limno-telmatik on peat bogs, wet forest swamp and fen. Based on the position in the stratigraphy of the study area sedimentation flock on the environment swamp evidenced by the contact top and bottom that show the content of carbonaceous complex consists of coal into claystone carbonaceous rich content of organic elements in the form of the element carbon. Of the content of organic matter is then the formation of coal took place in calm conditions so construed is deposited on the environment of the swamp.

Abstrak. Sampel batubara berasal dari formasi Muara Enim cekungan Sumatra Selatan, lebih tepatnya pada Kecamatan Merapi Barat, Kabupaten Lahat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis petrografi organik guna mengetahui komposisi maseral dan mineral penyusun batubara serta metode analisis stratigrafi guna mengetahui fasies batuan penyusun serta memperkuat gagasan dalam penentuan lingkungan pengendapan batubara daerah penelitian. Interpretasi lingkungan pengendapan batubara dilakukan berdasarkan hubungan nilai TPI dan GI dan hasil perbandingan model fasies yang didapatkan dengan model lingkungan pengendapan yang telah ada sebelumnya. Kandungan kelompok maseral huminit mendominasi batubara daerah penelitian (>50%) diikuti dengan kelompok maseral liptinit dan inertinit. Batubara daerah penelitian memiliki rentang nilai TPI 0,87–1,61 dan GI 6,98–37,33 menunjukkan bahwa batubara pada daerah penelitian terendapkan pada lingkungan pengendapan transitional lower delta plain dengan sub-lingkungan pengendapannya berupa telmatik dan limno-telmatik pada rawa gambut wet forest swamp dan fen. Berdasarkan kedudukan dalam stratigrafi daerah penelitian terendapkan pada lingkungan swamp dibuktikan dengan adanya kontak atas dan bawah yang memperlihatkan kandungan karbonan yang berangsur terdiri atas batubara menjadi batulempung karbonan yang kaya kandungan unsur organik berupa unsur karbon. Dari kandungan unsur organik tersebut maka pembentukan batubara berlangsung dalam kondisi tenang sehingga ditafsirkan diendapkan pada lingkungan swamp.
