CSR Activities of “Mangrove School†at High Company Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit VI Balongan

Abstract

One of CSR PT. Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit VI Balongan in the largest environmental field is Mangrove Ecotourism pioneered since 2007, and in 2014 at the commemoation of Environment Day, the Minister of Environment and Forestry established Mangrove karangsog area as Mangrove Center Western part of Indonesia. In addition, Regent Indramayu has set this real into Center for Restoration and Education Indramayu Mangrove. Departing from that, PT. Pertamia (ersero) Refinery Unit VI Balongan is committed more to expand the implications, not only economi secor development and environmental quality improvement, but also want to educate the young generation as asset of the nation so that the future can continue the Mangrove heritage Has now grown. Mangrove School Education Program is a development in the environmental sector combined with the education sector, so this program is considered unique and can bring considerable impact in the future. Based on the explanation, the title of this research is to know how "The Role of CSR Through Program" School of Mangrove "in PT. Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit VI Balongan". This research is a qualitative research, with case study approach, collecting data based on results In-depth interviews, observation and documentation, In this study took background research at PT. Pertamina (Persero) RU VI Balongan in Indramayu. The results of this study found that the Mangrove School CSR Program implemented in Balongan, Indramayu. Is a CSR program implemented and designed by Public Relations Pertamina Refinery Unit VI covering environmental aspects as well as nature conservation. The reason for the establishment of this program is because the existing problems in this Balongan village is about the conservation of nature, especially the conservation of Mangrove, therefore looking at Balongan region, Indaramayu is very close to the operational of Pertamina Refinery Unit VI refinery, therefore PT. Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Balongan Unit feels more responsibility to the surrounding area to help overcome the existing problems through CSR program, including Mangrove School program.
