Abstract


Abstract. The current era, the digital world is very important, especially in Public Relations activities itself, coupled with the presence of the internet which forms a wide network into a new change for Public Relations in carrying out its activities. Therefore, Public Relations is very dynamic in following developments in carrying out their activities, including the existence of the industrial era 4.0 which makes all professions form an activity in digital form. The development of the industrial era 4.0, which is an all-digital era, has also encouraged government agencies such as the Public Relations of the West Java Provincial Government to do the same. Therefore the Public Relations of the West Java Provincial Government creates an account on the Instagram platform. This study aims to determine the activities of the West Java Provincial Government Public Relations on Instagram social media. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection methods used were interviews, observation, documentation, literature study. The results of this study are: 1) The stages of planning regular public relations activities from West Java Public Relations, through social media Instagram @humas_jabar. 2) The communication strategy in the @humas_jabar Instagram account which aims to build the credibility of @humas_jabar 3) Implementation of public relations activities on Instagram @humas_jabar with the aim of providing public service and building branding to form a positive image, and it is hoped that the West Java Provincial Government will gain a good reputation. 4) The concept in the @humas_jabar account is formed to create an identity between the @humas_jabar agency and other government agency accounts, and it is hoped that the concept applied by @humas_jabar will increase engagement with its followers. The subject of this research is the Head of Publication, Coverage and Documentation of West Java Public Relations and three of his staff.

The theory used is self-presentation theory which also uses a model to analyze the results of the Public Relations activities of the West Java Provincial Government on Instagram Social Media.
