The BPOM Supervision of the use of the Reused Edible Oil by Street Vendors Based on Presidential Decree Number 3 Year 2013 on the Seventh Amendment on Status, Tasks, Functions, Organizational Structure Authority, and Institution Administration

Abstract


The use of cooking oil repeatedly hazardous to health because they contain chemicals that can cause dangerous diseases. There have been changes in the chemistry of cooking oil that is used repeatedly, so could harm consumers if consumed, because the quality and the guarantee does not meet standards. This study aims to determine how the relevant legal regulations of cooking oil is set in the positive law and to know how to control Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) on the use of cooking oil repeatedly by hawkers. The method used is normative. Using descriptive analytical research specification, which describes the laws that protect consumers as well as supervision by BPOM to the use of cooking oil repeatedly using data collection techniques in the form of literary study that uses the primary legal materials, secondary and tertiary. Then the field research through interviews that are supporting the research literature. Data will be analyzed by the method of analysis is qualitative analysis without using formulas and figures. The results of this study illustrate that the regulations in force is not enough to protect consumers, because of the lack of regulations specifically prohibit the use of cooking oil repeatedly. Second, supervision by BPOM to the use of cooking oil repeatedly were to be done, but by PKL knowledge of the dangers of cooking oil use over and over again are lacking.
