Abstract

Abstract. The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 occurred at the end of 2019 in China. COVID-19 has content with SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV taxonomically, structurally, and causes respiratory distress. COVID-19 originates from bats and transmits to the human body and infects via ACE2 receptors. One of the efforts to prevent the virus is by increasing the body's immunity using immunostimulating herbs. Noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) is a herbal plant that is easily found in Indonesia and tries to increase body immunity. The purpose of this research is to look at the safety and security of noni in an effort to prevent COVID-19 infection. The research method used is a literature review using primary data sources in the form of national and international journals. The results showed that noni has immunostimulatory activity by increasing the number of T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, NK cells, and leukocytes in the body and is safe to use without serious side effects. Further clinical research is needed to prove the benefits and safety in efforts to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection.
