Abstract

Abstract. Daruju leaves are herbs that are empirically used to treat skin disorders, so it is thought to have antibacterial activity. Antibacterial is a compound that can inhibit cell wall synthesis, inhibit protein synthesis and inhibit the work of bacterial enzymes. There are various bacteria that can be curtailed by daruju leaves such as positive Gram and negative Gram bacteria. The study is a literature study, which is aimed at figuring out how the daruju zone responds to positive Gram and negative Gram pathogens, as well as knowing which pathogens the daruju leaves can suppress. Data obtained is the most effective diameter of the blockage zone of positive Gram bacteria and the minimum value of KHM and KBM by producing a 1 mg/mL and 3 mg/mL of bacteria containing the daruju leaf. According to literature, the metabolic compounds contained in daruju leaves consist of saponin, polyphenols, tannin, terpenids, flavonoid, anthrax and alkaloids.
