Effectiveness of Cibaduyut Footwear Industry Competitiveness Improvement In Facing Chinese Competition (Porter's Five Forces Model Application)

Abstract


The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of competitiveness and effectiveness of government policy in an effort to increase the competitiveness of the footwear industry. To know the condition of competitiveness is seen through five determinants of strength in pushing Cibaduyut footwear industry, supplier strength, buyer power, substitute product threats and competitor threats. For the effectiveness of government policies related to improving the footwear industry competitiveness seen from effective in Improving product design, Facilitating the rights and protection of product design, Promoting the promotion of the footwear industry at the international national forum and improving the efficiency and quality of the products. This research was conducted on Cibaduyut Bandung with quantitative descriptive method. Data source used primary and secondary data source. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires. The technique of determining the sample in this research is based on tables Issac and Michael. Testing used by analysis from result of likert scale calculation. The research results show that 1) the strength of suppliers in encouraging the footwear industry Cibaduyut 2) the strength of buyers in encouraging the footwear industry Cibaduyut 3) the threat of replacement products in encouraging the footwear industry Cibaduyut 4) the threat of potential competitors in encouraging the footwear industry Cibaduyut and Effectiveness policy Government in an effort to increase the competitiveness of Cibaduyut footwear in the face of Chinese competition.
