The Mapping of Bandung City Readiness in Harnessing Opportunities from Demographic Bonus

Abstract

The background of this study is the Indonesian demographic situation that is entering a period of demographic bonus with its opportunities. As the provincial capital, which has the largest population in Indonesia, Bandung is the center of economic activity in West Java. Armed with a lot of population and economic activity, the City of Bandung is very interesting to be studied on how it takes advantage of opportunities from demographic bonus. The purpose of this study is to determine how to identify and analyze the readiness map of Bandung based on the quality of the population, the provision of quality jobs, the number of family savings, control of population growth, and participation of women in the labor market taking advantage of opportunities Demographic Bonus. The method used in this study was radar graph function to display the data. The indicator used in this study has been calculated by using the weights obtained by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The sample of this study covers two respondents and one resource that comes from the BAPPEDA Bandung) and an expert, the perpetrator of the area of ​​residence, a Lecturer in Geography Education Department of the Indonesia University of Education.
