The Identification of the Business Model at the Footwear Industry Center of Cibaduyut

Abstract


The footwear industry development is included a priority on the agenda of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It is written on the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2015-2019. The footwear industry center is located on Cibaduyut, about 2 kilometers of shops selling footwear creating industrial center in the Cibaduyut region that even has been registered in MURI (Indonesian Record Museum). The actors at the center of this industry influence each other. Therefore, this research identifies the business model canvas consisting of nine elements and map out the strategy used for the improvement and development of the footwear industry in the Cibaduyut region. By the use of this canvas business model of footwear industry, in the Cibaduyut region is expected to grow, in order to realize the purpose of industrial awakening that is resilient and competitive in the idea by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the development of Indonesian footwear industry. The purpose of this study is to identify the canvas business model in the center of the footwear industry in Cibaduyut and to formulate development strategy. The research combined qualitative research methods as the primary method and quantitative methods to support and strengthen data. Therefore, this research used a combination of concurrent design model embedded. In this research, the qualitative method had greater weight than the quantitative method. The data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaire distributes to the footwear and institutional craftsmen at the center of the footwear industry in the area of ​​ Cibaduyut. The data of questionnaires is processed by using Performance Analysis (IPA) matrix and Likert scale of measurement.
