Abstract

ABSTRACT. This study aims to analyze the impact of international trade on the economic growth of the AEC. International trade represents a source of economic growth. The method used is the Multi-Regional Input-Output model which is an approach to analyze economic interdependence between different regions, processed from the 2011 Asia Pacific MRIO Table data. The 2011 Asia Pacific MRIO table is obtained from the publication of the Asian Development Bank Multi-Regional Input-Output ( ADB MRIO) published by the World InputOutput Database (WIOD). The results of disaggregation are carried out in order to make it easier to analyze sectors between countries, because the distribution of sectors in each country is not always the same, and there is a diversity of data on the GDP of ASEAN countries. Based on the research results, it shows that the industrial sector dominates and has a major impact on ASEAN economic growth based on the largest multiplier effect output value. Vietnam has a major contribution in the agricultural sector to ASEAN economic growth, and Malaysia has the largest contribution to the transportation equipment industry sector and the air transportation service sector to ASEAN economic growth. Export and import activities between ASEAN countries have the ability and potential to drive the economy or economic growth.
