Hubungan Kemampuan Metakognitif dengan Karakteristik dan Prestasi Belajar pada Mahasiswa Tingkat Empat Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung Tahun Akademik 2015/2016

Abstract


Abstract: Academic achievement reflected performance of student learning that effected by internal factor, external factor, approached learning and metacognition. Metacognition was  effected by characteristic of an individual such as gender and age. The purpose of this research was to analyze relationship of metacognition ability with students characteristic and academic achievement of students at Medical Faculty of Bandung Islamic University. This was an observational analytic method with cross sectional approach. Respondents were all fourth level student of Medical Faculty of Bandung Islamic University academic year 2015/2016 (168 students). Statistics analysis was used chi square test. Female with adolescent age were 56,5% compare to young adult. The ability of planning, monitoring, knowledge, and evaluation components of metacognition in low category were 61.3%, 56%, 50%, 44.6% respectivelly whereas in good category were 38.7%, 44%, 50%, 55,4% respectivelly. Statistics test showed that there is negative relationship between gender and knowledge component (p=0,01, & R=-0,19) whereas monitoring, evaluation and planning have no significant correlation. Ability of knowledge, monitoring, planning, and evaluation as component of metacognition have no relationship with age and academic achievement (p=>0,05).The conclusions of this research are gender have significant relationship with knowledge component of metacognition whereas age and academic achievement have no significant relationship. 

Abstrak: Prestasi belajar mencerminkan performa belajar mahasiswa yang dipengaruhi beberapa faktor yaitu faktor internal, eksternal, pendekatan belajar dan metakognitif. Metakognitif dipengaruhi beberapa faktor, salah satunya karakteristik individu yaitu jenis kelamin dan usia. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui hubungan kemampuan metakognitif dengan karakteristik dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa di Fakutas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh mahasiswa tingkat empat FK UNISBA tahun akademik 2015/2016 sebanyak 168 orang. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji chi square. Karakteristik responden perempuan lebih banyak daripada laki-laki dan rentang usia remaja sebanyak 56,5%, sisanya dewasa. Kemampuan metakognitif komponen planning, monitoring, pengetahuan, dan evaluasi yang termasuk kategori kurang sebanyak 61,3%, 56%, 50%, 44,6% secara berturut-turut, sedangkan yang termasuk kategori baik sebanyak 38,7%, 44%,50%, 55,4% secara berturut-turut. Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif tidak erat antara jenis kelamin dengan komponen pengetahuan (p=0,01, & R=-0,19) sedangkan komponen monitoring, evaluasi dan planning tidak terdapat hubungan. Demikian halnya dengan hubungan kemampuan metakognitif komponen pengetahuan, monitoring, planning, dan evaluasi dengan usia dan prestasi belajar yang tidak memiliki hubungan (p>0,05). Simpulan, terdapat hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan metakognitif komponen pengetahuan serta tidak terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan metakognitif dengan usia dan prestasi belajar.
