Abstract

Abstract. Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB) is a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis which is resistant to at least two of the strongest anti-TB drugs, namely rifampin and isoniazid, which spreads when the patient expels bacteria into the air. In diagnosing and preventing MDR TB disease, knowledge of risk factor related to the disease is needed. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factor related of MDR TB patients based on age, gender, residence, and educational status. This research uses the Scoping Review method, which is taken from the Springer Link database and Science Direct, with the type of article chosen is the primary study or original research article. Article screening was carried out using the PRISMA flowchart, and eligible articles were selected based on PICOS criteria. The results of this study obtained 7 eligible articles from a total screening of 10,113 articles. The largest age group was found to be 15-54 years old, male patients were more than female, urban patients were more from rural areas, and based on educational status, many patients only had a history of primary school education or below. So it can be concluded that risk factor related to multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients are the age group15-54 years old, male, live in urban areas, and only have a history of primary school education or below.
