Perbedaan Pemulihan Denyut Jantung Pasca Exercise antara Mahasiswa Perokok dan Bukan Perokok Di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung

Abstract


Abstract.Smoking can cause an increase in heart rate due to an increase in adrenergic activity caused by cigarettes and cause hemodynamic changes in the cardiovascular system. The effect of nicotine on exercise can cause a vasoconstriction in blood vessels that will increase heart rate frequency. Recovery of heart rate after exercise is one of the markers of physical vitality level. The purpose of this research was to determine the differences of post-exercise heart rate recovery between smoker and non-smoker students at the Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Bandung. This research was conducted by cross sectional design to 32 students in Faculty of Medicine that used consecutive sampling method. Conducted a Harvard Step Test to the smokers and non-smokers group to assess the heart rate before exercise, the first 30 seconds, 1 minute to 5 minutes post-exercise. The results of the analysis data using the Independent T test obtained the average rate of Heart Rate Recovery of the non-smoker group and the smoker group which as follow : initial heart rate 156,38 ± 9,22 beats / min 165 ± 17,16 beats / min (p 0,087), 30 second is 141,38 ± 8.46 beats / min vs. 147.94 ± 16.53 beats / min (p 0.168), 1 minute 130.31 ± 8.43 beats / min vs. 135.25 ± 13.48 beats / min (p 0.224), 2 minutes 114.81 ± 8.97 beats / min vs 124.88 ± 12.37 beats / min (p 0.014), 3 minutes 103.75 ± 12.8 beats / min vs. 117.31 ± 13.15 beats / min (p 0.006), 4 minutes 92.56 ± 14.1 beats / min vs. 109.75 ± 13.43 beats / min (p 0.001), 5 minutes 81.06 ± 15.6 beats / min vs. 104.44 ± 13.46 beats / min (p 0,000). The conclusion is there was a significant differences OF post-exercise heart rate recovery at minute 2 at 5 minutes between smoker and non-smoker students at the Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Bandung. Heart rate recovery of nonsmoker group is faster than smoker group.

Abstrak.Merokok dapat  menyebabkan peningkatan denyut jantung karena adanya peningkatan aktivitas adrenergik yang disebabkan oleh rokok dan menyebabkan perubahan hemodinamik pada sistem kardiovaskular. Pengaruh nikotin terhadap exercise dapat mengakibatkan vasokonstriksi pada pembuluh darah yang akan meningkatkan frekuensi denyut jantung. Pemulihan denyut jantung setelah latihan merupakan salah satu penanda tingkat kebugaran fisik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemulihan denyut jantung pasca  exercise antara mahasiswa perokok dan bukan perokok di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan rancangan potong lintang terhadap 32 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Dilakukan Harvard Step Test terhadap kelompok perokok dan bukan perokok untuk dinilai denyut jantung sebelum exercise, 30 detik pertama, 1 menit hingga 5 menit pasca exercise. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji T Independent didapatkan nilai rata-rata pemulihan denyut jantung kelompok bukan perokok dan kelompok perokok adalah sebagai berikut : denyut jantung awal 156,38± 9,22 denyut/menit vs 165± 17,16 denyut/menit (p 0,087), 30 detik pertama 141,38± 8,46 denyut/menit vs 147,94± 16,53 denyut/menit (p 0,168), 1 menit 130,31± 8,43 denyut/menit vs 135,25± 13,48 denyut/menit (p 0,224), 2 menit 114,81± 8,97 denyut/menit vs 124,88± 12,37 denyut/menit (p 0,014), 3 menit 103,75± 12,8 denyut/menit vs 117,31± 13,15 denyut/menit (p 0,006), 4 menit 92,56± 14,1 denyut/menit vs 109,75± 13,43 denyut/menit (p 0,001), 5 menit 81,06± 15,6 denyut/menit vs 104,44± 13,46 denyut/menit (p 0,000). Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada pemulihan denyut jantung pasca exercise pada menit ke 2 hingga menit ke 5 antara mahasiswa perokok dan bukan perokok di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Pemulihan denyut jantung kelompok bukan perokok lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan  kelompok perokok.
