Perbandingan Tingkat Depresi Mahasiswa Tingkat I dan Tingkat IV Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung
Abstract
Abstract.Depression is one of the mental disorders with the highest rates of mortality and morbidity in the world. According to the World Health Organization depression is classified as the number 4 cause of disability worldwide. Depression can disrupt a person's ability to work, difficult to establish relationships, destroy the quality of a person, in more severe cases depression can lead to suicide. Faculty of Medicine have heavy education and stressful event that can cause depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the depression level of students year I and year I. This study use analytical methods with cross-sectional approach. The subjects of the study were 100 students consisting of 25 men and 25 women at year I and 25 men and 25 women at year IV. Characteristic is based on age and gender. Measurement of depression rate using Beck Depression inventory questionnaire. The data then processed using Chi Square. The results showed the prevalence of depressive symptoms was higher at year I than year IV. Based on the research, there is no significant difference of depression level between student of year I and year IV with p = 0,241, there is no significant difference of depression level based on gender with p = 0,842, there is significant difference of depression level based on age at student year I with p = 0.002, there was no significant difference of depression level with age at student year IV with p = 0,847. Depression among students can be influenced by several factors, such as, the stress generated from new learning environments and high workloads.

Abstrak.Depresi merupakan salah satu gangguan mental dengan angka mortalitas dan morbiditas tertinggi di dunia. Menurut World Health Organization  depresi menjadi penyebab nomor 4 disabilitas di seluruh dunia. Depresi dapat menganggu kemampuan seseorang untuk bekerja, sulit untuk menjalin hubungan menghancurkan kualitas seseorang dan pada kasus yang lebih parah depresi dapat menyebabkan bunuh diri. Fakultas Kedokteran merupakan masa pendidikan yang berat dan penuh tekanan stresor tersebut dapat menyebabkan depresi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan tingkat depresi mahasiswa tingkat I dan tingkat IV. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Subjek penelitian adalah 100 mahasiswa yang terdiri atas 25 laki-laki dan 25 perempuan pada tingkat I dan tingkat IV Fakultas Kedokteran Unisba. Data karakteristik yang diambil yaitu usia dan jenis kelamin. Pengukuran tingkat depresi menggunakan kuesioner Beck Depression Inventory, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prevalensi gejala depresi lebih tinggi pada tingkat I dibandingkan tingkat IV. Berdasarkan penelitian tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan tingkat depresi antara mahasiswa tingkat I dan tingkat IV dengan nilai p=0,241, tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan tingkat depresi dengan jenis kelamin dengan nilai p=0,842, terdapat perbedaan signifikan tingkat depresi dengan usia pada mahasiswa tingkat I dengan p=0,002 dan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan tingkat depresi dengan usia pada mahasiswa tingkat IV dengan p=0,847. Depresi pada mahasiswa dapat dipengaruhi beberapa faktor antara lain, stres yang ditimbulkan dari lingkungan belajar baru, beban kerja tinggi.
