A Comparative Study of Rural Indonesian and Malaysian Development Planning Process

Abstract

This study aims to determine the rural development planning process in Indonesia and Malaysia. This study uses qualitative research methods with qualitative descriptive design format to describe the various phenomena that exist in the community and draw them to the surface of reality as a trait, character, nature, model, or picture of the condition or phenomenon. The data collection was done with a structured and in-depth interview, as well as literature studies that focused on the exploration of a variety of related literature. The data was analyzed by using the triangulation and interpretive methods. The triangulation method rested on the validity of the findings and levels of trust. The data analysis was inductive. The results of the study are in the form of meaning rather than generalization. The results of this research can be used as an analysis model for policy makers both at the central and the regional governments
