Relationships between Trainers and Athletes

Abstract

This thesis contains research that aims to know and explain the Communication Relationships between Trainers with West Java’s Karate Athletes in the Indonesia National Sports Competition 2016. To be able to answer and know it is the researchers raised three sub-focus the theory of speech acts locution (message) , Speech acts of illocution (meaning), and speech acts perlocutions (impact) of communication relationship between trainers with athletes. This study used a qualitative approach using etnometodology study with conversation analysis approach, which is the subject of this research is athlete and trainer of karate sport contingent of West Java’s Karate Athletes in the Indonesia National Sports Competition 2016. Data obtained through direct observation to field, interview, literature study, internet searching, and documentation. Data analysis techniques performed with data collection, data analysis, editing, and the last is the final process of analysis of research and discussion based on various theories used. In this study, the author examines the experiences of trainer and athlete while practicing to achieve the specified target, which is to be champion, one of which the success factor is due to the form of good relationship communication between trainers and athletes.This study used a qualitative approach using etnometodology study with conversation analysis approach, which is the subject of this research is athlete and trainer of karate sport contingent of West Java’s Karate Athletes in the Indonesia National Sports Competition 2016.
