Pengaruh Konten Media Sosial terhadap Sumber Informasi Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract. The development of social media platforms has increased significantly in the current internet era. Because it is undeniable that a social media platform can facilitate the public as a source of information, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic which is currently still ongoing. This study seeks to find out the audience's needs in interpreting the social media content of the Kompas TV YouTube channel as a source of information for the audience in seeking information about Covid-19. The results obtained from this study are expected to be able to provide a reference in the academic and practical fields with the context of Covid-19 information on the Kompas TV YouTube channel social media. This research focuses on the concept of social media content on the Kompas TV YouTube channel, sources of information on Covid-19 and uses and gratification theory. Descriptive quantitative approach is used in this study with purposive sampling technique for students and students of the Al-Azhar communication faculty batch 2021 with criteria as subscribers to the Kompas TV channel. The data collection technique was carried out online through the Google Form link with a 7-point Likert scale measurement level. The analytical technique used for Confirmation Test is Validity Test and Reliability Test. Meanwhile, for data processing using Technique Simple Linear Regression Analysis using software IBM SPSS. The results of this study state that the social media content of the Kompas TV YouTube channel has a significant effect on sources of information about the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstrak. Perkembangan platform media sosial telah meningkat secara signifikan di era internet saat ini. Karena tidak bisa dipungkiri bahwa sebuah platform media sosial dapat memudahkan khalayak dalam mencari informasi terutama di masa pandemi Covid-19 yang saat ini masih berlangsung. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengetahui kebutuhan khalayak dalam memaknai konten media sosial channel YouTube Kompas TV sebagai sumber informasi khalayak dalam mencari informasi seputar Covid-19. Perolehan hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan sebuah referensi dalam bidang akademis maupun praktisi dengan konteks informasi Covid-19 pada media sosial channel YouTube Kompas TV. Penelitian ini berfokus pada konsep konten media sosial channel YouTube Kompas TV, sumber informasi tentang Covid-19 dan teori Uses and Gratification. Pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik purposive sampling pada mahasiswa dan mahasiswa fakultas komunikasi Al-Azhar angkatan 2021 dengan kriteria sebagai subscriber channel Kompas TV. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan secara online melalui link Google Form dengan tingkat pengukuran skala Likert 7 poin. Teknik analisis yang digunakan untuk Uji Konfirmasi adalah Uji Validitas dan Uji Reliabilitas. Sedangkan untuk pengolahan data menggunakan teknik Analisis Linear Sederhana dengan menggunakan software IBM SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa konten media sosial channel YouTube Kompas TV berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sumber informasi tentang pandemi Covid-19.
