Abstract


Abstract. Reporting of investigations is not instant and minimal in online media. Online media has changed the landscape of investigative journalism. The purpose of this study is to describe the practice of reporting investigations in online media through Kompas.id news titled Uncontrolled Medical Waste and Suara.com titled Threatened with the Death Penalty, Judicial Irregularities for Papuan Children Mispo. This research is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observations, and documents. Analysis of the Miles and Huberman models was carried out on the data carried out using a descriptive approach. The results of the study illustrate if searches in investigative reporting on online media are carried out to expose and show hidden or fabricated facts that often use disguises. The process of covering investigations in Kompas.id runs in an organized, strict and systematic manner. Unlike Suara.com which runs like a process of in-depth coverage without disguising techniques. Coverage of investigations carried out in the public interest. The feature of online pages that are multimedia through this research can benefit from investigative reporting in terms of packaging news products.
