Control Diagram of Fuzzy Multinomial for linguistic Data

Abstract


Control diagram is a tool usually used to control and examine produsction process. One of the basic control diagrams is proportion diagram (P). In the classic P diagram, every item is classified  as ‘suitable’ or ‘unsuitbale’ with the specification related  to quality characteristik. Practically, the product or item can be classified into more than two categories such as ‘poor’, ‘average’, ‘good’, and ‘excellent’. If those data are available, the data must be adopted through control diagram of fuzzy multinomial. With this control diagram, hopefully its power can be better than control diagram of proportion. This research describes fuzzy multinomial (FM-chart) diagram used to control multinomial process. Control limit of FM-chart is obtained using multinomial distribution of statistic that is biner combination and there are many events of each category burdened from membership function. Fuzzy multinomial diagram is applied on production process of textile. The result of proportion control diagram provides signal ‘out of control’ only on one point and that is in the 13th sample. And so the control diagram of fuzzy multinomial with median of set 1 and median of set 2 provides the same result. It is just that diagram control of fuzzy multinomial with modus method provides information that there are 2 points in ‘out of control’ limit and that is the 6th sample and the 13th sample.
