Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Subjective Well Being pada Remaja Low Vision di SLBN A Bandung

Abstract. Adolescents is defined as a period of transition between childhood and adulthood that includes changes in the biological, cognitive and socio-emotional. At this time teens in crisis, but there are some teenagers who are less fortunate have physical limitations one of them is an individual with low vision. Low vision can lead to physical barriers and also inhibit adolescents in fulfilling developmental tasks. This can have a negative impact for adolescents, but the researchers also found that teens with a positive view of life. Adolescents with low vision in SLBN A feeling that the physical limitations possessed a test that must be dealt with well, they do not want a protracted thinking about less important things. They are more optimistic about the future and can achieve their goals. They accept what happened and are satisfied with their lives. This relates to their subjective well being. The purpose of this study is obtain an overview of the condition of subjective well being in adolescents with low vision in SLBN A Bandung. This research uses descriptive method. Subject of research that 10 adolescents with low vision. Collecting data using a questionnaire measuring instrument which is based on the theory of subjective well being of Diener (2009). The results showed that 60% of adolescents had higher subjective well being and 40% of adolescents had lower subjective well being.

 

Abstrak. Remaja diartikan sebagai masa transisi antara masa anak dan masa dewasa yang mencakup perubahan biologis, kognitif, dan sosio-emosional. Pada masa ini remaja mengalami krisis, namun ada beberapa remaja yang kurang beruntung memiliki keterbatasan fisik salah satunya adalah individu dengan low vision. Keterbatasan low vision menimbulkan hambatan fisik dan dapat pula menghambat remaja dalam memenuhi tugas-tugas perkembangan. Hal tersebut dapat berdampak negatif bagi remaja, namun peneliti menemukan pula remaja yang memandang dengan positif kehidupannya. Remaja low vision di SLBN A merasa bahwa keterbatsan fisik yang dimiliki merupakan ujian yang harus dihadapi dengan baik, mereka tidak mau berlarut-larut memikirkan hal yang kurang penting. Mereka lebih memikirkan masa depan dan optimis dapat mencapai cita-cita. Mereka menerima apa yang terjadi dan puas dengan kehidupannya. Hal ini berkaitan dengan subjective well being mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran mengenai kondisi subjective well being pada remaja low vision di SLBN A Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu 10 remaja low vision. Pengumpulan data menggunakan alat ukur kuesioner yang disusun berdasarkan teori subjective well being dari Diener (2009). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa 60% remaja memiliki subjective well being tinggi dan 40% remaja memiliki subjective well being rendah.
