Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Regulasi Emosi pada Guru di SLB ABCD X Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Education is one of the essentials thing for human life. Education not only for normal children, but also for children with special needs. School for children with special needs called special school or SLB. One of SLB located in Bandung is SLB ABCD X. The teachers in this school was often irritated and feel "jumble" when faced with the behavior of the students. Resentment of perceived teacher often makes teachers be rude to the students. Treat rough performed like "tweak" the student, snapped students with bad words, encouraging students when tantrums, labeling students with a bad label. It leads to emotion regulation. According Gratz emotion regulation is the ability to monitor, understand, and accept emotions and to engage in goal-directed behavior or when emotionally activated. The purpose of this study is to determine and obtain empirical data and perform a descriptive presentation of the emotion regulation of teachers in SLB ABCD X Bandung. This research is population study to 12 people and retrieval of data using a measuring instrument Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale of Gratz and Roemer (2004). The results of the study describes from 12 teachers, two people said to be able to regulate emotions while 10 others have difficulty regulating emotions or dysregulation. The most dimensions with difficulties, causing the teacher said dysregulation is nonacceptance, goals, and strategies.


Abstrak. Pendidikan adalah salah satu hal penting bagi hidup manusia. Pendidikan tidak hanya ditujukan untuk anak normal, tapi juga untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus. Sekolah untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus disebut sekolah luar biasa atau SLB. Salah satu SLB yang terdapat di Kota Bandung adalah SLB ABCD X. Para guru di SLB tersebut sering merasa kesal dan merasa “campur aduk†saat menghadapi perilaku para siswa. Kekesalan yang dirasakan guru seringkali membuat guru berlaku kasar pada siswa. Perlakukan kasar yang dilakukan seperti “menjewer†siswa, membentak siswa dengan perkataan buruk, mendorong siswa saat tantrum, melabeli siswa dengan label buruk. Hal tersebut mengarah pada regulasi emosi. Menurut Gratz regulasi emosi adalah kemampuan memonitor, memahami, menerima emosi dan untuk terlibat dalam perilaku yang diarahkan ketika emosi muncul. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan mendapatkan data empiris serta melakukan pemaparan secara deskriptif mengenai regulasi emosi para guru SLB ABCD X Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian populasi dengansubjek penelitian sebanyak 12 orang dan pengambilan data menggunakan alat ukur Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale dari Gratz & Roemer (2004). Hasil penelitian menggambarkan dari 12 orang guru yang diteliti, 2 orang dikatakan dapat meregulasi emosi sedangkan 10 orang lainnya mengalami kesulitan meregulasi emosi atau disregulasi. Dimensi yang paling banyak mengalami kesulitan sehingga menyebabkan guru dikatakan disregulasi adalah nonacceptance, goals, dan strategies.
