Hubungan Stres Akademik dengan Adiksi Smartphone pada Mahasiswa di Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. A smartphone is a communication tool that has a big influence on the daily life of individuals, because smartphones have a role as a medium of information, multimedia and entertainment. Almost all age groups use smartphones in daily life, not a few who experience over-indulation or addiction on the smartphone. Dependence of this smartphone is widely found among students, especially in the city of Bandung. Many students who have problems in academics caused by excessive use of smartphones, so there are students in the city of Bandung who experience symptoms of academic stress due to lectures or academic activities are more focused on smartphones compared to academic activities hereby can be indicated there are some students who experience dependence. The purpose of this study is to obtain data on the correlation of academic stress with smartphone addiction in students in Bandung. This research is quantitative research using rank spearman correlation analysis with SPSS version 25. Sampling with purposive sampling techniques with students who meet the criteria as many as 134 people. The measuring instrument used by the Indonesian version of the Smartphone Addiction Scale questionnaire and the Academic Stress Inventory of Students at Universities and Colleges of Technology. The results of this study showed a relationship between academic stress and smartphone addiction with a coefficient correlation value of 0.719, which means it has a strong correlation relationship and positive value, so it can be said in the same direction. Then it can be concluded, the higher the academic stress, the higher the smartphone adiksi.

Abstract. Smartphone adalah sebuah alat komunikasi yang berpengaruh besar terhadap kehidupan sehari-hari individu, karena smartphone memiliki peran sebagai media informasi, multimedia dan hiburan. Hampir semua kalangan usia menggunakan smartphone dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, tidak sedikit yang mengalami ketergatungan atau adiksi berlebih pada smartphone tersebut. Ketergantungan smartphone ini banyak ditemukan dikalangan mahasiswa terutama di Kota Bandung. Banyak mahasiswa yang memiliki masalah dalam akademiknya yang diakibatkan oleh penggunaan smartphone yang berlebih, sehingga terdapat mahasiswa di Kota Bandung yang mengalami gejala stress akademik akibat perkuliahan atau kegiatan akademik lebih terfokus pada smartphone dibandingkan dengan kegiatan akademiknya dengan ini dapat diindikasikan terdapat beberapa mahasiswa yang mengalami ketergantungan. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk memperoleh data korelasi stres akademik dengan adiksi smartphone pada mahasiswa di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi Rank Spearman dengan SPSS version 25. Pengambilan sample dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan mahasiswa yang memenuhi kriteria sebanyak 134 orang. Alat ukur yang dipakai kuesioner Smartphone Addiction Scale versi Bahasa Indonesia dan Academic Stress Inventory of Students at Universities and Colleges of Technology. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara stres akademik dengan adiksi smartphone dengan nilai korelasi koefisien sebesar 0.719, yang artinya memiliki hubungan korelasi yang kuat dan bernilai positif, sehingga dapat dikatakan searah. Maka dapat disimpulkan, semakin tinggi stres akademik maka semakin meningkat juga adiksi smartphone.
