Abstract

Abstract. Indonesia is one of the countries that has a fairly large yield of natural resources, one of these natural resources comes from agriculture. However, in the field there are still many graduates of agricultural students who work not in accordance with their fields. Agricultural students are expected to master the field and understand the scope of their work, so it is hoped that the agricultural sector in Indonesia can improve the quality of food for the Indonesian people. Students of the Faculty of Agriculture as prospective agricultural graduates must have provisions such as knowledge, skills and good understanding in order to be able to compete in the world of work. Therefore, self-regulated learning and student engagement are needed because they can provide increased knowledge, skills and good understanding in lectures in the field of agriculture so that they can face the world of work. This study aims to see how much influence self-regulated learning has on student engagement of Faculty of Agriculture students. The research subjects were 307 students of the Faculty of Agriculture in Bandung. This research uses quantitative research methods in the form of non-experimental causality and proportional sampling technique. The self-regulated learning measuring tool uses the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). To measure student engagement using the University Student Engagement Inventory (USEI). The results of simple linear regression analysis show that Self Regulated Learning significantly affects Student Engagement with a coefficient of determination of 52.6%.
