Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional Terhadap Kematangan Karier Siswa Kelas XII SMAN 1 Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Based on the data, there are about 92% of high school students in Indonesia have doubts about the major that they will be engaged in the college. Lack of career preparation will lead to the wrong choice of majors and can have an impact on not working optimally due to lack of relevant information and experience. This can impact an increase in the unemployment rate. This phenomenon is related to the importance of career maturity. SMAN 1 Bandung is a school that was pioneered as the first school of integrity. Besides that, this school has various excellent programs that are expected to increase student’s emotional intelligence. This study aims to determine how much emotional intelligence influences career maturity. This research uses a population study, and the final sample obtained is 191 of XII class students of SMAN 1 Bandung. Emotional intelligence measuring instrument is using EII (Emotional Intelligence Inventory) based on the Goleman's theory, and adaptation of career maturity measurement instrument based on the Super theory. This research uses the causality method with a quantitative approach. Data analysis using simple linear regression test technique. The measurement results show that the significance value is 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is an influence of emotional intelligence on career maturity. The result of the coefficient of determination (R Square) obtained in this study is 0.416, so it can be concluded that emotional intelligence (X) has an effect of 41.6% on career maturity (Y).

Abstrak. Berdasarkan data, terdapat sekitar 92% peserta didik tingkat SMA di Indonesia yang memiliki keraguan terhadap jurusan yang akan ditekuni di bangku perkuliahan. Kurangnya persiapan karier akan menyebabkan salah dalam memilih jurusan dan dapat berdampak pada tidak maksimalnya bekerja karena kurangnya informasi dan pengalaman yang relevan. Hal ini kemudian dapat berdampak pada peningkatan tingkat pengangguran. Fenomena ini berkaitan dengan pentingnya kematangan karier. SMAN 1 Bandung merupakan sekolah yang dipelopori sebagai sekolah berintegritas pertama, selain itu sekolah ini memiliki berbagai program unggulan yang diperkirakan dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kematangan karier. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi populasi dengan sampel akhir yang didapatkan sebanyak 191 siswa kelas XII SMAN 1 Bandung. Alat ukur kecerdasan emosional menggunakan EII (Emotional Intelligence Inventory) berdasarkan teori Goleman, dan adaptasi alat ukur kematangan karier berdasarkan teori Super. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kausalitas dengan pendekatan kuantatif. Analisis data  menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil pengukuran menunjukan bahwa nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti bahwa terdapat pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kematangan karier.  Hasil nilai koefisien determinasi (R Square) yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini yaitu sebesar 0,416, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional (X) berpengaruh sebesar 41,6% terhadap kematangan karier (Y).
