Pengaruh Life Satisfaction terhadap Adiksi Instagram pada Emerging Adulthood Di Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Social media is an important part of everyday life and a tool for developing and maintaining relationships. Users of social media applications specifically designed for various photos and short text messages such as Instagram are more users of individuals who are in the emerging adulthood phase. The use of social media such as Instagram can cause users to become addicted. The predictor factor for Instagram social media addiction is life satisfaction. Individuals with low life satisfaction will spend time on social media to fulfill life satisfaction that cannot be obtained in the real world until its use becomes problematic. The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical data on how much influence Life satisfaction has on Instagram addiction in emerging adulthood in Bandung City. The research design used is quantitative and technical analysis using Simple Linear Regression Test. The measuring instrument used is the Satisfaction With Life Scale by Diener (1985) and the Social Media Disorder Scale by Lemmens (2016). Respondents are emerging adulthood in Bandung City who meet the criteria for Instagram addiction with a total of 102 people. The results showed that life satisfaction had an effect on Instagram addiction by 32.2% with a significance level=0.000.

Abstrak, Media sosial adalah bagian penting dari kehidupan sehari-hari dan menjadi alat untuk mengembangkan dan memelihara hubungan. Pengguna aplikasi media sosial yang dirancang khusus untuk berbagai foto dan pesan teks singkat seperti Instagram lebih banyak penggunanya pada individu yang sedang berada di fase emerging adulthood. Penggunaan media sosial seperti Instagram dapat menyebabkan penggunanya menjadi adiksi. Faktor prediktor adiksi media sosial Instagram adalah life satisfaction. Individu dengan life satisfaction yang rendah akan menghabiskan waktu di media sosial untuk memenuhi kepuasan hidup yang tidak bisa didapatkan di dunia nyata hingga penggunaanya menjadi bermasalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data empiris mengenai seberapa besar pengaruh Life satisfaction terhadap Adiksi Instagram pada emerging adulthood di Kota Bandung. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dan analisis teknik menggunakan Uji Regresi Linier Sederhana. Alat ukur yang digunakan Satisfaction With Life Scale yang disusun oleh Diener (1985) dan Social Media Disorder Scale yang disusun oleh Lemmens (2016). Responden adalah emerging adulthood di Kota Bandung yang memenuhi kriteria adiksi Instagram dengan jumlah 102 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan life satisfaction berpengaruh terhadap adiksi Instagram sebesar 32,2% dengan taraf signifikansi = 0,000.
