Pengaruh Transformational Leadership terhadap Work Engagement pada PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. The purpose of this research is to add information about the perceptions effect of Transformational Leadership on the Work Engagement of employees who work in the Marketing Division of Insurance Companies. This research uses a quantitative approach and data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique was performed using Multiple Linear Regression method. This study involved 25 employees who worked in the Marketing Division of PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia. Measuring instruments used in this research are Work & Well-being Survey (UWES-17) which refers to the Work Engagement theory from Schaufeli, Salanova, Gonzales-Roma & Bakker (2002) and the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ Form 5X) from Bass & Avolio, (1995). The results of the study obtained R results of 0.693 and R square: 0.481, so it can be concluded that transformational leadership has a positive influence on work engagement of 48.1%. Transformational leadership components that influence work engagement are Inspirational Motivation component of β=0.482 and Idealized Influence Attribute of β=0.376.

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menambah informasi mengenai pengaruh dari persepsi transformational leadership terhadap work engagement karyawan yang bekerja di Divisi Pemasaran Perusahaan Asuransi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Regresi Linier Berganda. Penelitian ini melibatkan 25 karyawan yang bekerja dalam Divisi Pemasaran PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia. Alat Ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Work & Well-being Survey (UWES-17) yang mengacu pada teori Work Engagement dari Schaufeli, Salanova, Gonzales-Roma & Bakker (2002) dan Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ Form 5X) dari Bass & Avolio, (1995). Hasil penelitian mendapatkan hasil R sebesar 0,693 dan R square: 0.481, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa transformational leadership memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap work engagement sebesar 48,1%. Komponen transformational leadership yang memberikan pengaruh yang terbesar adalah komponen Inspirational Motivation sebesar  β=0.482 dan Idealized Influence Attribute sebesar β=0.376 terhadap Work Engagement.
