Pengaruh Basic Need Satisfaction terhadap Work Engagement pada Karyawan Bidang Finished Product & Distribution

Abstract


Abstract—  Research about basic need satisfaction on work engagement has only been found in interns and academic staff so that there is a gap in information about the effect of basic need satisfaction on work engagement in other areas of work. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of basic need satisfaction on work engagement among employees of finished product & distribution section of PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk., Cilegon. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive with a population of 28 employees of finished product & distribution section of PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk. Data analysis has been done using multiple regression method. The measuring instruments used are basic need satisfaction measuring instruments from Van den Broeck et al., as well as work engagement measuring instruments from Schaufeli & Bakker. The result showed that 96% employees  had a high  level of basic need satisfaction and 96% employess had a high level of work engagement. The results of the research obtained the results  of R square: 0.722, so it can be concluded that basic need satisfaction has a positive influence on work engagement.
