Studi Deskriptif Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Pada SD Cemara Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Education is important for the progress of a nation and plays a role in shaping quality human resources who excel in intellectual aspects and also have good character, therefore it is necessary to implement character education since elementary school. This study aims to determine the description of the implementation of character education in SD Cemara, Bandung City. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Subjects in this study amounted to 59 people consisting of 28 students, 7 teachers and 24 parents. The measuring instrument used is based on the Character Education theory developed by Lickona, namely School As A Caring Community Profile-II and Respect and Responsibility School Culture Survey. The results showed that SD Cemara has implemented character education, which shows respect, responsibility, student respect, support for care by and for faculty, support for care by and for parents. However, there are several aspects that need to be further developed in order to be more optimal, including Student Shaping of Their Environment and Student Friendship and Belonging as well as bullying behavior. Suggestions to be able to optimize these aspects are teaching and facilitating students how to resolve conflicts, cooperate, help each other, also forgive other students, and implement bullying intervention strategies in schools.

Abstrak. Pendidikan merupakan hal yang penting bagi  kemajuan sebuah bangsa dan memainkan peran dalam membentuk sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas dimana unggul dalam aspek intelektual dan juga mamiliki karakter yang baik, oleh karena itu diperlukanya penerapan pendidikan karakter sejak di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana gambaran implementasi pendidikan karakter di SD Cemara Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian ini  berjumlah 59 orang yang terdiri dari 28 siswa, 7 guru dan 24 orang tua. Alat ukur yang digunakan disusun berdasarkan teori Pendidikan Karakter yang dikembangkan oleh Lickona yaitu School As A Caring Community Profile-II dan Respect dan Responsibility School Culture Survey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di lingkungan SD Cemara sudah mengimplementasikan Pendidikan karakter, dimana menunjukkan adanya  respect, responsibility, student respect, support care by and for faculty, support care by and for parent. Namun terdapat beberapa aspek yang perlu dikembangkan lagi agar lebih optimal diantaranya Student shaping of their environment dan student friendship and belonging serta masih terdapat juga perilaku perundungan. Saran untuk dapat mengoptimalkan aspek tersebut yaitu mengajarkan dan menfasilitasi siswa cara mengatasi konflik, bekerja sama, saling membantu, juga memaafkan dengan siswa lainnya, dan melakukan strategi intervensi perundungan di sekolah.
