Abstract

Abstract. Satpas members work in stressful situations, with many tasks and work demands, making Satpas members prone to burnout. Burnout is a psychological syndrome experienced by workers due to prolonged stress (Maslach & Leiter). Burnout can be prevented using coping stress. Coping stress is how individuals manage the gap between their demands and their abilities (Lazarus & Folkman, 1984). The purpose of this study was to see the effect of coping stress on burnout among members of Satpas X City. This study used a quantitative method with multiple regression analysis techniques. The subjects used in this study were 40 members of the Satpas. The results showed that there was a significant effect of coping stress on burnout with Sig. 0.003 (<0.05). Based on the form of coping, the results show that problem focused coping can increase burnout, while emotional focused coping can reduce burnout.
