Self Regulasi Siswa yang Mengalami Adiksi Media Sosial di SMA N "X" Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. This time, technological development are increasing especially in providing internet access. One of  the most popular types of internet service is social media. Currently in Indonesia the use of social media is increasingly in demand, with the main users are adolescent aged between 15 to 19 years old. Generally the age range of 15 to 19 years old are high school student. Researcher found the phenomenon that there are adolescent in Student of Public High School “X†Bandung who spend almost all of their time accessing social media, this disrupts their daily activities. Students think accessing social media is fun and if they don’t use it they will feel uneasy. This study is aimed at obtaining empirical data regarding the closeness of relationship between self regulation and social media addiction. The research method used in this study is descriptive research method with a measuring instrument in the form of questionnaires with purposive sampling technique and obtained 178 samples. This study used a scale of self regulation adapted from the self-regulation questionnaire (Brown & Miller, 1991) and a scale of social media addiction adapted from the scale of social media disorder (Lemmens et al, 2016). The results showed that students who had a low level of self regulation amounted to 79,77% and students who had a social media addiction amounted to 60,54%

Abstrak. Perkembangan teknologi saat ini semakin meningkat terutama pada penyediaan akses internet. Salah satu jenis layanan internet paling marak di minati adalah Media sosial. Saat ini Indonesia pengguna media social semakin banyak diminati dalam beberapa tahun terakhir dengan pengguna utama adalah remaja usia 15 s/d 19 tahun. Umumnya rentang usia 15 s/d 19 tahun berada pada siswa-siswi SMA. Peneliti menemukan fenomena bahwa terdapat individu remaja di SMA N “X†Bandung yang menghabiskan hampir seluruh waktunya untuk mengakses media sosial. Berdasarkan hal tersebut mengganggu pada aktivitas sehari-harinya. Siswa-siswi beranggapan mengakses media social adalah hal yang menyenangkan dan jika tidak menggunakannya akan merasakan gelisah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memperoleh data empiris mengenai keeratan hubungan antara Self Regulation dengan Adiksi Media Sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian deskriptif dengan alat ukur berupa kuesioner yang dilakukan pada dengan teknik Purpossive Sampling dan didapatkan subjek sebanyak 178. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala Self Regulation yang di adaptasi dari The Self-Regulation Questionnaire (Brown & Miller,1991) dan skala Adiksi Media Sosial yang diadaptasi dari The Social Media Disorder Scale (Lemmens dkk, 2016). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki tingkat self regulasi yang rendah berjumlah 79,77% dan siswa yang memiliki adiksi media sosial berjumlah 60,54%.
