Hubungan Gratitude dengan Psychological Well Being pada Remaja di Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak Al Fien Bandung

Abstract. Teenagers are a period that changes occur both physically and psychologically which often causes a problem. Therefore it needs accompaniment from parents. But not all of teenagers receive it, they are teenagers who live in orphanages. Al Fien's orphanage gives religious training every day, applies discipline, and parenting by considering the psychological needs of children. Living in an orphanage is not easy, every day faced with rules and activities that are solid, but teens feel grateful while living in an orphanage. They also can accept the current situation, do not feel ashamed or complain why stay in an orphanage. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between gratitude and psychological well being in adolescent PSAA Al Fien Bandung. Research subjects amount of 32 people. The measuring instrument was made by the author based on the aspect of gratitude according to Watkins (2003) and psychological well being aspects according to Ryff (2008). The analysis technique is a quantitative technique with a statistical test using the Rank Spearman correlation formula. The results show that there is a strong positive relationship between gratitude and psychological well being by obtaining a value of 0.703 so that the higher the gratitude, the higher the psychological well being.

Abstrak. Remaja merupakan masa dimana terjadinya perubahan baik secara fisik maupun psikologis yang seringkali menyebabkan suatu masalah. Oleh karena itu memerlukan pendampingan dari orangtua. Namun tidak semua remaja mendapatkannya yaitu remaja yang tinggal di panti asuhan. Panti asuhan Al Fien setiap harinya memberikan pembekalan agama, menerapkan kedispilinan, serta pola asuh dengan memperhatikan kebutuhan psikologis anak. Tinggal di panti asuhan bukanlah hal yang menyenangkan, setiap harinya dihadapkan dengan aturan dan kegiatan yang padat, namun remaja merasa bersyukur selama tinggal di panti asuhan. Mereka juga dapat menerima keadaan nya saat ini, tidak merasa malu ataupun mengeluhkan mengapa tinggal dipanti asuhan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara gratitude dengan psychological well being pada remaja PSAA Al Fien Bandung. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 32 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan dibuat sendiri oleh penulis berdasarkan aspek gratitude menurut Watkins (2003) dan aspek psychological well being menurut Ryff (2008). Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik kuantitatif dengan uji statistik dengan menggunakan rumus korelasi Spearman Rank. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang kuat antara gratitude dengan psychological well being dengan memperoleh nilai sebesar 0,703 sehingga semakin tinggi gratitude maka semakin tinggi pula psychological well being.
