Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Life Satisfaction pada Lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Kota Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Life satisfaction in the elderly is one that shows the elderly have satisfaction with the life they live. Life satisfaction is a balance of purpose and results that complete a life-long journey. Although throughout the journey of life is an evaluation of life satisfaction. It is very important for an individual's life, because the process of developing and maintaining control over the course of life carried out through oneself towards the goal of achieving success and participating in failure. By accepting yourself, accepting the fact that you are getting old with pleasure to start a new life, the elderly will be more able to accept the changes that occur. Everyone must get their own to get happiness in their old age, so the elderly must have happiness. (Schulz and Heckhausen, 1996). The task of development that must be carried out during the elderly is to make adjustments with new roles, support the elderly provide development tasks well, it will support success in life and foster feelings of happiness. After completing a failed task can be completed by completing the next task. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on life satisfaction of the elderly (life satisfaction) who live in Tresna Werdha Social Home in Bandung. The method used in this research is descriptive and uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The subjects of this study are the elderly who live in Tresna Werdha Social Home in Bandung. Based on the results of processing the data obtained, life satisfaction of the elderly based on each aspect is 82.2% in the aspect of happy with activities, 84.4% in the meaningful aspect of life, 82.2% in the aspect of succeeding in ideals, 82.2% in the aspect of firmness in positive self-image and 84.4% in aspects of optimistic attitude and happy mood.

Abstrak. Kepuasan hidup pada lansia merupakan salah satu indikasi bahwa seorang lansia telah merasa kepuasan pada hidup yang dijalani. Kepuasan hidup merupakan ringkasan penilaian dari tujuan dan hasil yang mencakup perjalanan sepanjang hidup. Meskipun sepanjang perjalanan kehidupan merupakan evaluasi dari kepuasan hidup. Namun sangat penting bagi kehidupan individu, sebab proses pengembangan dan pemeliharaan control dari sepanjang perjalanan hidup yang tercapai melalui penyesuaian diri terhadap tujuan untuk mencapai keberhasilan dan penyesuaian diri terhadap kegagalan. Dengan menerima diri, menerima kenyataan bahwa dirinya sudah menjadi tua dengan senang memasuki hidup yang baru maka lansia akan lebih dapat menerima perubahan – perubahan yang terjadi. Setiap orang harus menemukan caranya sendiri untuk mendapatkan kebahagiaan dimasa tuanya, sehingga lansia pun harus memiliki kebahagiaannya. (Schulz dan Heckhausen, 1996). Tugas perkembangan yang harus dijalankan pada masa lansia ini adalah melakukan penyesuaiaan dengan peran - peran baru, apabila orang lanjut usia mampu menyelesaikan tugas perkembangan dengan baik, maka akan merasa berhasil dalam hidup dan timbul perasaan bahagia. Sebaliknya apabila merasa gagal dalam menyelesaikan tugas perkembangan dapat menyebabkan rasa tidak bahagia, putus asa dan kesulitan menjalani tugas-tugas berikutnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data mengenai gambaran kepuasan hidup lansia (life satisfaction) yang tinggal di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan menggunakan instrument berupa kuesioner. Subjek penelitian ini adalah lansia yang tinggal di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Kota Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data yang diperoleh, kepuasan hidup lansia berdasarkan setiap aspeknya yaitu 82,2% pada aspek merasa senang dengan aktivitas, 84,4% pada aspek hidup penuh arti, 82,2% pada aspek berhasil dalam cita – cita, 82,2% pada aspek teguh pada gambaran diri positif serta 84,4% pada aspek sikap hidup optimis dan suasana hati bahagia.
